MODULAR GAME-READY UE4 LEVEL
DESIGNED FOR A NARRATIVE ADVENTURE
This is a game ready 3D environment created in Unreal Engine 4. My aim was to create a single floor of a New York City highrise-style apartment complex set in a dystopian, cyberpunk future. Under the ever-watchful security camera network of the Vigil Corporation, a mega-corporation that has monopolised property ownership in 2089, the residents rarely leave their apartments in favour of socialising in VR, and use haphazard intercom systems to communicate with the outside world.
The environment consists of two sections, the main corridor lined with apartment doors, and a maintenance corridor with elevator access. The level was designed for use in a “Resident Evil” style adventure-puzzler. The primary software packages that were used during development included Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Adobe Photoshop and Unreal Engine 4.
